School will be closed on Monday 19th September as King Charles III has declared the date a bank holiday due to the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. School will reopen on Tuesday 20th September


School pick up time is 3:15pm, please collect your child at this time, if you are running late contact the school office and teachers will be made aware.

We have inputted a new phone line system over the school holidays which has unfortunately caused the direct line to the therapist's to be out of action. This will be rectified as soon as possible please call the school office to speak to the therapy team.

Welcome to Archdale School, a designated school for children with Special Educational Needs. We are situated in the Eastern sector of Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The school population is drawn from a city wide catchment area and caters for children between the ages of three and eleven years with profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, complex medical needs and autism.

The school’s policy targets the provision of a bespoke curriculum which is broad, balanced and relevant to each individual child. We also work from the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, both of which are adapted and differentiated for each individual child's Special Educational Needs.

The ongoing work of school based staff is also ably supported and complemented by a broad range of additional colleagues school based/local authority/NHS and others all of whom contribute significantly to the work and, hence, the success of Archdale School.

The school moved in 2015 to the current premises at Archdale Road which has presented exciting opportunities for growth and development. The current premises have been totally restructured and refurbished with the ‘learning’ needs of our pupils very much in the forefront of our minds and include facilities for hydrotherapy; rebound therapy; soft play; and a sensory room. Additional teaching areas such as the food technology room, library and dedicated quiet group rooms, enable our children to practice and embed the skills they learn in the classroom. All classrooms have an integrated hoist system to facilitate moving and handling.
