Ganelle Griffiths Co-Chair Governor I'm Ganelle and I am a mum to 3 amazing children age 16, 12 and 4 years old.
I have a degree in Nutrition, health and Lifestyle and I am also a qualified level 6 Early Years Teacher and recently completed my level 1 and 2 in makaton.
Before I had my youngest child I was deputy manager at a nursery and an early years teacher working with children age 0-5 years. I have always loved to work with children as I find it so rewarding watching them grow and develop and knowing you have helped them to reach their full potential as well as supporting families.
In my spare time I love to go on walks especially in the countryside with my children, and love a good bike ride too. I love to spend lots of time outdoors as it is so great for mental health something which I am really passionate about.
I love to socialise and have me time, watching movies and listening to a variety of music.
With my youngest child having additional needs it has opened up my eyes to a new career path which I'm hoping to fulfil in the future as I love to work with families and help children where ever I can.
I am a friendly, bubbly , happy person who loves to bring joy to others.

Catherine Shipton Head Teacher
I have worked in SEND as a teacher and leader for over twenty years in Sheffield, London and the South East. I have been passionate about teacher development and ensuring that children and young people are well equipped to fully participate in the wider community.
I have been on the Teaching, Learning and Community committee and the Resources and Premises committee since 01/01/2023

Melanie Brunt Staff Governor I have worked at Archdale/Norfolk Park for the past 17 years,during this time I have worked as teaching assistant and have been in my current role as Healthcare Coordinator for 7 years. I am also part of the safeguarding team.
My passion and commitment for the school and the children that attend has stemmed from my own personal experience as a Mum of a child with PMLD and complex medical needs. I have undertaken lots of training to be able to do as much for the children as possible to enable them to remain in education even when medical needs can become a barrier.
Archdale has a special place in my heart and that of my family.

Lindsay Newbould Staff Governor I have been a teacher for 13 years. I lead on RE and Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural (SMSC) development within school. I ensure we reflect learning around a variety of different faiths, traditions and festivals and find a multi-sensory approach works well. I have been involved in developments in school around the new curriculum, engagement, music and assemblies. Music should be so prominent in school as it is inclusive and accessible and brings out so much joy in the children. Outside of school my own passion is music: I play the cornet and am a member of the Chapeltown Brass Band. I also play in school sometimes and I also sing for weddings, parties and just for my own pleasure.

Vivienne Michael-Omudu Co-opted Governor I am a banking professional and church leader with Master's degrees in Public Health and Mass Communication. I am passionate about children, families, and community wellbeing, with a particular interest in supporting children with special educational needs. My faith shapes my belief that every child is wonderfully created by God, uniquely gifted, and able to thrive. This conviction led me to become involved in special needs education in the last 5 years and I am committed to ensuring that every child is valued, nurtured, and supported to reach their full potential. Through my 15 years and counting experience in banking customer service and leadership, I have developed strong skills in communication, complaints management, and problem-solving. As a governor, I look forward to supporting the school in providing a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where all pupils can flourish.

Charlotte Rowlett Parent Governor
“My name is Charlotte, I am a proud mum to two amazing children aged 6 and 9. My youngest son has a profound learning disability and attends Archdale School.
Most recently, I worked within the NHS for 11 years, but I recently left my admin role to focus on my caring responsibilities for my son. Prior to this, I studied Health and Social Care and English Language at college. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, reading, going to the Theatre and spending quality time with my family and friends. We love going on days out together and creating special memories on family holidays.”

In my professional life,I am a Global Health, Safety & Environment leader with over 30 years’ experience across energy, manufacturing, and high-risk industrial operations with ExxonMobil and Air Liquide. Proven track record leading multi-country HSE governance, influencing executive leadership teams, and embedding Zero Harm culture within complex, matrix organisations.

Helen Priestley Co-opted Governor Awaiting Photo "Hello, I’m Helen. I am a proud mum to two grown-up children and a Nana to my amazing grandson, who attends Archdale School. Throughout my career, I have worked in various roles focused on supporting children and families. While raising my own family, I completed a degree in Psychology and spent 17 years working as an advocate for children and young people in care. Currently, I work in fostering—a role that certainly has its challenges but is incredibly rewarding. I am deeply passionate about empowering people and making a positive difference in children’s lives. In my spare time (which is rare—I was definitely mis-sold the dream of winding down as you get older!), I love being outdoors, pottering in the garden, walking in the Peaks, swimming, and practicing Pilates. While I don't watch much TV, my guilty pleasure is A Place in the Sun, where I can dream of owning a home by the sea one day. Back in reality, I am thrilled to step into my new role as a governor and look forward to helping Archdale School be the best it can possibly be."

Dr Jill LeBihan Chair of Governors
Hi, I'm Jill. I worked at Sheffield Hallam University for 34 years and retired in March 2025. I currently work as a freelance researcher in the HE sector. My academic background is in English Literature and Language, so I understand the importance of literacy and communication in education, but I also believe in reading for pleasure, and am committed to ensuring children have opportunities to explore the arts, music and broad creative expression.
I have worked as a manager, and I have a lot of experience of complaints management and conflict resolution. I am also very aware of safeguarding risks to children and aim to support the school where I can in keeping the pupils safe.
